Mindray CAL 8000

Hematology Automation Line

CAL 8000 - Hematology - Menarini Diagnostics France

CAL 8000 allows the automated distribution of samples, according to defined criteria, in “Repeat”, “Rerun” and “Reflex” categories:

“Repeat”: in case of system errors in sample analysis, this could be automatically repeated;

“Rerun”: in suspected cases, result will be stored and sample can be automatically repeated, performing the same test panel for confirmation;

“Reflex”: reflex tests with additional test panels, like NRBC and RET (PLT-O), based on flags and suspects of first hemogram.

Pre-defined revision criteria allow to program transportation of samples that require blood smear directly to the SC-120 slide maker and stainer, minimizing the number of tests performed.

The unloading area, where the user can select the samples that require additional analysis, supports up to 200 samples simultaneously.

All reagents and pneumatic unit (compressor) can be set in “trolleys” below their respective instruments in the automation line, enabling their easy replacement.

The reagent reservoir is able to store the reagents required for approximately 50 tests, ensuring uninterrupted work of each BC-6800 unit on CAL 8000 while the user replaces the reagents.

Loading area can hold up to 200 samples at a time. STAT position provides an option for a faster test. The work with the automation line is initiated by just pressing one button. Dedicated racks with specific barcodes allow carrying the tubes to perform specific functions as Quality Control (“QC”), Reticulocytes (“RET test only”) and Blood Smears (“Slide making & staining only”).

The touch screen is the “brain” of CAL 8000. It optimizes the distribution of workload between each BC-6800 unit and decides which sample requires a blood smear. It displays the status of each BC-6800 or SC-120 installed on CAL 8000, the status of the automation line and the monitoring of reagents, including dead volume, number of tests available, batch and shelf life.
